Because of the strong nonlinear effect generated between high power laser pulse and atmosphere,when high power laser transmit in the atmosphere,which will cause the air ionization and hence engender the photoinduced atmospheric plasma.This is a loss process laser energy.Meanwhile,the plasma has the inhibition to the transmission of the electromagnetic wave.Just because of the existence of these physical phenomenon,the influence and interference characteristics of the high power laser against the detector and other electronic pieces has received more and more concern.This paper emphasized on the research of atmospheric breakdown threshold of the ns pulse from the aspect of numerical computation which aims at the breakdown of high power laser pulse in the atmosphere,and studied the length of breakdown ionizing ray besides the interference and mutilation characteristics of the plasma against the electronic circuits by the experiment.There are two main parts in this thesis:1,Studied all kinds of the theorem of air ionization including the photoionization and impact ionization,especially the multi photon ionization.Based on the air ionization,it introduced the model of the air breakdown,and calculated the atmospheric breakdown threshold of pulse laser aim at the air transmission of the high power laser pulse.2,On the basis of full consideration to the nonlinear effect of the atmospheric transmission of high power laser,we deduced the atmospheric breakdown threshold of the high power laser pulse.We proceeded laser air breakdown experiment by the ns pulse laser. We realized the air breakdown of laser,by imposing the electric field and changing the spread of electrodes on the ns pulse laser beams.We measured experimental data in all situations,and drawn the history of the laser power density,electric field intensity,length of the ionizing ray.When the power density of laser was 508.6MW/cm~2 and electric voltage was 53KV,we could obtain 8cm length ionization.We designed the electronic circuits,and tested the interference and mutilation characteristics of the plasma against the electronic circuits by the use of the laser plasma obtained.
