The paper mainly discusses the issues of large-scale network lab management. Considering the facts in many colleges and universities, a large-scale intelligent network lab management system was developed with related technologies. The following is the main work of this thesis:1. With the help of combining the different characteristics of software and hardware, a network lab management system was designed and implemented. Based on identification with IC card, the time spent on authentication was largely reduced, and the efficiency of managing network lab was improved. In server side, a MIS based on SQL SERVER2000 was implemented, through which the administrator can monitor and control the management of the designated machines or remote troubleshooting.2. A new service layer "s" is added to the traditional C/S system, while the Agent proxy layer is used among the service layers. Then a four- layer model is constructed. Each Agent in this system is independent but related. And, the maintainability and expansibility of the system are improved. So the new system better applies the remote interaction, non-bridging interaction, and the massive distributed management to the computer lab.3. The research realized the intelligent management of large-scale network lab and efficient data transmission. The system adopted UDP protocol in communication in the network, which will be more efficient and faster without consuming too many network resources, and is able to manage large-scale group of network computers.This system has been applied in a number of colleges and universities and achieved good results, supplying much convenience to the management of the network lab. It is has been proved that this system is both practical and highly adaptive.
