Abstract/Summary:
Since the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) wireless communication has lots of advantages such as high data transfer rate, low power consumption, high positioning accuracy and strong ability of anti-multipath and so on, it has been the subject of extensive research in the short-range wireless communication area. Among them, pulse waveform design and spectral control is the key to solve the problems of spectrum coexistence and interferer. The high data rate UWB system using multiple pulses orthogonal modulation based on spectral optimization is proposed in this paper. The system is consists of parallel PPM branches and spectral optimizer. The orthogonal pulses are adjusted by the optimizer which calculates the parameters based on Least Area Criterion (LAC) before modulation in order to follow the requirements of FCC spectral mask. Simulation results demonstrate that the system can not only increase the data transfer rate, but also can enhance the spectral utilization on the basis of not increasing the BER.
