Recording and analysis of electric signals from different body part can reflect excitability of human body and is important for clinical diagnosis. Heart is the engine of blood circulation system and is essential for a person's health. An electrocardiogram is a recording of the electrical activity of the heart over time produced by an electrocardiograph. Hence, recording and analysis of cardiac signal is of great importance for diagnosis of cardiac disease.Electrical activity generated by the heart can be measured by an array of electrodes placed on the body surface. Analysis of ECG is an important step in the diagnosis of heart disease. Portable ECG recorder is popular these days because of its portability and convenience. In this research we are trying to design low cost, convenient and cabinet ECG.With the development of data transmission technology, USB (Universal Serial Bus) technique has been widely used in our daily life. In this research, we introduced one kind of portable ECG which applied EZ-USB chip technique. The main advantage of this ECG is that it can collect ECG signals longer. The design process id composed of ECG signal collection and ECG signal transmission. ECG signal collection means signal amplification and filtering. After filtering, the ECG signal will be saved at flash memory. In signal transmission step, we utilized EZ-USB68013A chip to transport ECG data, which stored in flash memory, to PC under control by program. Then the application program analyze and deal with the ECG data in the computer.In this paper, we described ECG hardware design and software design process and implementation of ECG design.
