RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an automatic identification technology which combines the LSI technology and the wireless communication technology. It identifies and exchanges the information stored in tags. In the 1990s, this technology has gradually moved to maturity and put into application. With the 21st century IT development, RFID has been on the stage of practical application in today's logistics, warehousing and retail. This dissertation revolves around the subject,"the RFID application in Shanghai Post regular postal package process", combined in RFID technology and application of state high-tech research development plan (863 plan). It begins with the research of basic principle, system structure, working frequency, development state pivotal technology and so on. Meanwhile, in light of the practical application problems of the subject, emphasis is put on the next three points. First, the suitable environments of different working frequency RFID technology are compared. Second, the different types in UHF RFID ISO/IEC 18000-6 standard are in-depth analysis, then choosing the suitable standard type for the postal application. Last, the anti-collision algorithm is in-depth researched, emphasis is put on the research and improvement of binary tree algorithm which is proposed by ISO/IEC 18000-6 standard, then, working on the algorithm stimulation and comparison. According to the conclusion, the proper one is chose to apply to the project.Furthermore, these relevant conclusions above are applied to the Shanghai Post regular postal package sorting RFID system design, development and implementation process. In final, in Shanghai WangGang Post mail processing center established a relatively completed package sorting RFID system, and reached the State Science and Technology Commission and related departments at higher levels of technical requirements.
