The mechanical damage of apple in storage and transportation is the major factor of its quality descent. Test picture was selected as the researched materials in this paper. This paper provided the study on the damage volume of apple presses damage based on digital image processing, and studied the relation between the apple's deform and damage. The main conclusions are as follows:1. Contrast method was applied to select color space. The results showed that the contrast of Lab was maximum in RGB, HIS, Lab and I1I2I3. Three color components L,a and b were analyzed by contrast method, The results showed that L color values was used in image processing.2. This paper studied on the image strengthen by linear transformation and histogram balance, the results showed that the effect of linear transformation was better.3. In this paper, FCM method and clustering image segmentation algorithm based on 2-D entropy were used to segment the slice images of damage apple, and this paper analyzed the segmentation results. In this foundation, an approach for slice images of damage apple segmentation, called genetic clustering image segmentation algorithm based on 2-D entropy, was presented. Segmentation result shows that the algorithm achieves good performance.4. First, the damaged area of damaged apple slice Image was calculated, and then it's damaged volume was calculated. This paper calculated the damaged apple's damaged volume by slice's damaged volume at last.
