Research And Application On Software Asset Management System Based On XML Query Technique

Software reuse can improve the quality and productivity of software efficiently.It is proven practically that massive reusable assets can raise up the efficiency of software reuse.Software asset management is the total procedure of correlated operations like description,storage,search and maintenance.Software assets management is the link between the asset producer and the asset consumer during the way of software reuse. Software asset repository is built as the practice and exploration in the theory of software reuse and software asset management.In this paper,asset management and retrieval is researched respectively from the aspect of theory and technique.Under the way of research in the field of the reusable asset management,some constructive methods and models are put forward in the aim to make enterprises build the asset repository in standardization,so the cost of reuse-based software production will be reduced and the level of software productivity will be raised.On the basis of the research,a prototype system called usable asset management system is designed and built as the practice of research.Firstly,in this paper,discussion is raised in the topic of software asset management.From the view of the general process of software reuse,the location and effect of software reuse is introduced and the demand of reusable asset management is analyzed.Then the information description model is defined in the aspect of software asset information description.Some operations on software asset and relative resources are defined.The introduction on Reusable Asset Specification(RAS) put forwarded by the Object Management Group(OMG) is highlighted to guide the design of the system.Secondly,on the basis of detail about the way on reusable asset management,the division of basic functions on asset repository is made. The repository will be divided into three main parts:the platform of reusable asset management;the platform of asset development;the platform of user management.The guideline of asset repository construction is made to help software communities build asset repository as the infrastructure of software reuse.Finally,we research on XML document retrieval from the aspect of XML-format asset description retrieval.Result correlation ranking model of vague content and structure(VCAS) is designed.On the basis of the research above,we primarily design and build the reusable asset management system in the framework of Struts.The module of asset creation and asset query is implemented.So it makes the basis of further research on software asset management later on.
