As one of the popular video compression coding standards,H.264/AVC supports several applications from wireless mobile video communication with low bandwidth and high bit error rate to video broadcasting with high bit-rate and low latency and on-line streaming media,it has getting more and more concern.Although it has high compression efficiency and better compression quality,as to its high complexity,it is not suitable for transmission of real-time video.In the basis on fully understanding of the H.264 video coding algorithm,an in-depth study of the intra-prediction mode and entropy coding algorithm is conducted.By improving the original counterpart,a low complexity of the coding algorithm is presented in this paper,with the complex entropy coding replaced by mathematical model,so that both the calculation of cost function and the encoding time are simplified.And the effectiveness of the new algorithm is proved by comparing the experiment results.The main research contents of this dissertation are recapitulated as follows:(1) The standard of H.264 and the method of reducing the complexity are deeply researched in this paper.By analyzing and studying the classic and famous fast algorithm in existing literatures,characteristics and limitations of these algorithms are summarized in the paper.(2) The optimization algorithm of the cost function and the model of CAVLC entropy coding algorithm are studied deeply.By summarizing the expression element rules and code table character,the relationship between each expression element and code flow is built in mathematics expression.(3) A model is advanced to estimate the code rate of CAVLC.Replacing complex entropy coding course,a simple code rate estimate model is used to calculate rate length R,so that the complexity of rate distortion optimization is reduced,and the fast intra-prediction mode algorithm is achieved.(4) Performance of ameliorate algorithm is validated,the characteristic and effect of it is also analyzed and contrasted adequately.(5) By researching the relationship between rate distortion optimization and rate control algorithm and analyzing the classical rate control resolution existing advanced scheme in JVT-G012,the amelioration policy is advanced respectively in allusion to the lack of existing rate control resolution.
