ROF is a new ultra-broadband wireless access technology, however, the fiber dispersion has a significant influence on the transmission performance of ROF systems. In this paper,at first the author analyzes operation principle of LiNbO3 Mach-Zehnder(LN-MZ) modulator, and deduces the theoretical formula for optically generating millimeter-wave based on LN-MZ modulators;Secondly, simulation models of ROF systems with DSB,SSB and OCS formats are constructed based on the above theoretical formula, and the effectiveness of the millimeter-wave generation method based on LN-MZ modulators are verified by computer simulation; Finally, with the help of the above simulation model of ROF systems and Split-Step Fourier Method to simulate the signal transmission in optical-fiber,the influence of optical-fiber dispersion on the transmission performance of ROF systems is analyzed. The research results of this paper provide some valuable theoretical reference for the future practical applications of ROF systems. |
