According to traditional PC computers, people are accustomed to install the operation system on the computer's hard drive. Start the operation system through the hard drive. With the development of the technology of flash memory, it has become a trend to install the operation system on the removable storage media. The common removable storage medias are U disk, CF card, SD card, SM card, Memory Stick and a small hard disk, and so on.In this paper, the major purposes are creating the U disk Linux system and using Qt to develop the specific software applications. Linux is a GNU Public License under the purview of free in accordance with the standard of the POSIX. The U disks' lifetime of operation in the normal circumstances, had been shown to be used about 10 years, which is favorably to the traditional hard disk. At the same time, the reading and writing speed of USB is increasing year by year, and running programs are narrowing to on your hard disk , and the U disks are increasing cost-effective. We do not have to consider the existence of the hard disk, but also not to avoid the possibility of damage to the hard disk data through using the U disk to run Linux. Qt is a cross-platform C + + graphical user interface library, currently consists of Qt, the framebuffer based on Qt embedded, rapid development tools, Qt designer, international Qt linguist and some other tools Qt support all unix systems, including Linux, and support the windows platform .The good package mechanism of Qt allows a very high degree of modular, reusable and better convenient for the users.The traditional systems have a full-featured, but they also need a higher profile and the corresponding consumption of a large number of hardware resources. The U disk system is a complete Linux operating system which has many aspects of the Linux. The user can customize their programs in accordance with the demand for professional software. In real life, practical needs of people often require portable, simple, specific application. According to the actual needs of their own custom modules suited to their functions, applications can play together effectively.At present, such technology has been applied to industrial control, consumer electronics and other fields.
