A Study And Development Of Web-based Quality Management Information System For Construction Project

Modern construction projects have many characteristics, which are sweeping, relating to many participants, referring to domestic and overseas, excessive files, and huge quantity of information. The traditional methods of construction quality information management are more administrative levels, inefficient and expensive. It will be prone to cause loss due to failure of communication. Rapid development of computer technology, especially network technology and database technology, provides new opportunities for the evolution of quality management mode of construction project. The informationization of construction quality management has become a trend.In the thesis, a Web-based Construction Quality Management Information System (WCQMIS) will be developed. The MIS is based on B/S pattern, and visualization of construction quality management will be achieved. The system provides dynamic construction quality information management for project. In WCQMIS, the basic quality data can be collected, stored, processed, transferred and printed out. In addition, cooperative management and telecontrol of participants could come true. And the system can help the project manager to make decisions through necessary analysis.WCQMIS compose of several functional modules, such as construction quality control of contractors, construction quality inspection of owners or engineers, quality defect and accident management, construction files management, integrative management and BBS. Through quality control and inspection on procedures, subsection project, section project and unit project, quality process management can be carried out in the system. Quality information report can be examined and approved in the Internet. And electronic signature is used. After completing the whole course of quality inspection, the relevant files will be pigeonholed automatically.
