Augmented Reality (AR) is a virtual reality technology which merges virtual objects generated by computer into real world video stream from camera. AR has been widely used in the areas of medical, military, industry, education, entertainment and engineering, and it becomes a recent hotspot in virtual reality area.With the development background of"UAV Teleoperation and Simulation System", the paper analyzes the augmented reality technology widly and deeply.Firstly, this paper summarizes the research significants, status and problems of AR. Then it systemically illuminates the applications, characteristics and system structure, and discusses the key technologies of AR, such as display and registration.Secondly, according to the needs of UAV location tracking, the paper analyzes the advantages and weakness of mechanical, magnetic sensing, GPS, ultrasonic, inertia and optics tracking technology. And the solution of UAV teleoperation augmented reality registration is proposed.Then, computer vision based registration is studied in detail. According to the registration error, a prediction technology based on kalman filter is proposed. It uses quaternion and a stochastic mathematics model constructed by Guass-Markov stochastic process to describe the head motion. The result of simulation shows that it has good prediction effect and it can decrease registration errors and increase registration precision effectively.
