Research On The Secure Multicast Schemes For Mobile WiMAX

WiMAX introduced MBS(Multicast and Broadcast Service) in 802.16 e.This introduced service effectively improves the efficiency of the WiMAX network, but at the same time it also brings some serious security problems. The main points of this paper are as follow:(1) Introduced the basic knowledge of the mobile WiMAX MBS, mainly for WiMAX and MBS, the MBRA, BS single-and multi-mode access of MBS;(2) For the single-BS access, this paper proposed a secure multicast scheme for mobile WiMAX based on a Hash function and multicast grouping, which helps to avoid the group key forging and to ensure the forward and backward secrecy;(3) For the multi-BS access, this paper proposed a three-Multicast tree scheme, increased effectively the efficiency of the key Update of the MBS ZONE, avoided the group key forging and ensured the forward and backward secrecy;(4) In response to the multicast schemes given above, we analysed their performance.In this paper, after the deep analysis of the security problems of mobile WiMAX MBS ,we proposed two secure multicast schemes for mobile WiMAX, and increased effectively the secrecy of MBS, as well as key distribution efficiency.
