The detection and processing of dim and small targets in infrared image sequences has always been a vital subject in the fields of computer vision,image processing and signal processing,at the same time it is a core technology in infrared detection system. The detection of infrared dim and small targets based on pixel temporal character is studied,and the background,the target and the clutter pixels are analyzed and modeled. Based on all above,the detection algorithm in this paper is proposed.The detection algorithm of this paper can be divided into two steps. Firstly,according to the temporal variance characters of the background, the target and the clutter pixels,the background suppression preprocession algorithms based on temporal variance is adopted to filter stable background from the image. Secondly, for the image after background suppression,the detection algorithms based on the temporal profiles is used.The problem of target detection is transformed into the detection the positive and negative pulse whose value are approximate according to the value variation of inflection points, and then based on the max mahalanobis distance, the moving trace of targets can be acquired and the clutter pixels can be eliminated.Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the algorithm in this paper has a good performance for various background clutters, and also is of certain application value. |
