Research on laser induced damage to infrared imaging system(IRIS) is a key link in Electro-Optical countermeasures. Based on the modeling theory of IRIS, imaging effects induced by laser damage to infrared detectors are simulated, and several representative performance parameters of IRIS are compared before and after the damage in this paper. The mechanism for laser induced damage to infrared CCD detectors is analyzed firstly. Then a well considered simulation model for IRIS is constructed, and a software that can simulate main physical effects is developed with Visual Studio 2003. Finally, imaging effects caused by different intensity laser radiation are simulated. Based on the result, the variation of MTF because of laser induced damage is analyzed utilizing 2D FFT method, NETD and MRTD of IRIS are calculated depending on theoretical formulas, and detection ranges of IRIS under different damage degrees are predicted according to the MRTD curves mentioned above.
