With the development and application of new infrared imaging systems, how to evaluate the system performance correctly has become an urgent problem. It is studied in this paper from the following three aspects.Firstly, the field performance prediction method based on cycle metric is discussed, the theoretical model of TTP metric is established, and the TTP values at different frequencies of a typical infrared imaging system are calculated. And then, the detection probabilities of different ranges are acquired based on the target transfer probability function.Secondly, to characterize the infrared imaging system, the TOD method is introduced in the evaluation of sensors which have image enhancement functions in order to characterize objectively infrared imaging systems. Finally, the effects of different blur and noise levels on object discrimination are discussed, and an observer experiment is completed. On the basis of the statistic experiment data, the curves of the contrast threshold of targets to the noise layers are fitted. |
