The development of The Photoconductive Semiconductor Switches (PCSS) is discussed in detail and a review of the time domain methods in electromagnetic is presented. Based on the above, the theoretical analysis and simulation of the THz radiation is made using The Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method and the experiment of PCSS is done.(1) The two work modes of PCSS are anaylzed. The physical mechanism of the different work modes of PCSS is researched. The experiment of PCSS triggered by LD has been made. The linear and nonlinear outputs of the switch have been obtained.(2) The radiation problems of the large-aperture photoconducting antennas have been analyzed in near and far zone radiation theory, the propagation of a THz pulse in the period layer structure has been studied using the FDTD method.(3) Based on the double Debye theory, the propagation of a THz pulse in the dispersive materials has been analyzed and simulated using the FDTD method. The reflection and transmission of the THz wave in the boundary layer of two different dielectrics have been obtained.
