MIL—STD—1553 bus is a kind of data transmission protocol designed by US airforce for information exchange between equipments on board. This protocol has been widely used because of its many advantages. It is famous for dual-way communication and real time information exchanging as well as high reliability. But for the rapid increase of data transmission in recent years, narrow bandwidth and half-duplex transmission mode have become a serious problem. It will cost a lot to improve the performance by the hardware. This thesis is trying to solve this problem through optimizing software and protocol.Firstly, through the study of MAC and LLC layer of 1553 and Token ring, we build a new High-speed system, which is different in media, modulation, demodulation and transmission mode from 1553 bus. We proposed an algorithm on passing Token which is also refered to 1553, adopting master-slave mode and TDM to control passing Token.Secondly, Auto Repeat Request (ARQ) has also been investigated. Generally speaking, Hybrid-ARQ is widely introduced to improve the efficiency and robustness of the transmission system. We presented a new form of Hybrid-ARQ which is adaptive to the time-variant channel. Simulation results show that, new Hybrid-ARQ is more efficient and accurate in low SNR. Considering High-speed bus is designed for many rugged environments (low SNR) , so Hybrid-ARQ which is adaptive to the time-variant channel should be adopted. After analyzing, we obtain optimum size of sending and receiving window of go-back-n ARQ.Finally, the DSP platform has been designed and implemented.
