The Application Of Fratal Geometry In Computer Hosiery Machine

With the development of computer science and technology, CAD/CAM is used more and more in hosiery machine pattern design and process treatment which has brought vital force into the traditional knitting industry. However, the CAD systems used at present are still respectively quite traditional. Because moat of present CAD systems make designs by stylist or get designs by a scanner, then turn the designs into pattern files. This kind approach of pattern design costs much ado and takes a long time, and it is also limited by the ability of stylist; or it is just to copy others patterns with no creation at all.This paper, analyzing the shortage of China hosiery machine's patter, using had DSP functional CMOS chip dsPIC30F6010 which used as major Controller, achieved to operate data quickly, enlarge memory, exactitude control behavior;Using normal models such as IFS(Iteration Function System), Recursion fractal,L system, Complex Plane Fractal System, Cellular Automata, integrated with Visual c++'s excellet performance in graphics,to draw and get all kinds of designs on the basis of Object-Oriented technique;Saved fractal patterns as bmp pictures; To enonomize memory, fit this hosiery machine's file formats, the author defined fractal pattern's style. The signal data may be download to the controller by USB communication interface and used pattern's high and width to ontrol the hosiery machine to weave many patterns.The patterns generated with fractal models bring entirely new sensibility to people.In this way, even an ordinary stylist can make out beautiful designs, and all that he must do is to input some necessary parameters. The stylists will never be bothersome for the sake of making artistic designs.this way of design can not only shorten the period of pattern design,but also guarantee the quality of patterns and satisfy consumers' requirements.It is obviouw that this effective means of design is very perspective, if is also a good reinforce to the present hosiery CAD, and it will improve the application CAD thchnique in hosiery manchine industry.
