Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has the characteristic of all-weather, day/night, long range, and high-resolution, therefore it is widely applicated and developed in both civilian and military fields in recent years.First, after briefly introducing the airborne SAR imaging theory, the characteristic of Doppler frequency and Range Cell Migration (RCM) is given in this paper, and then the application of two common SAR imaging algorithms(R-D (Range-Doppler) algorithm and CS (Chirp Scaling) algorithm)and two Doppler parameter estimation methods(correlation Doppler estimator method and MD method) in high resolution airborne SAR is described. Finally, based on the real data provided by a native institute, the problem of large RCM during imaging process is studied. The imaging result demonstrates that the high quality high resolution SAR image could be obtained after exactly motion compensating. This paper has the referring value for the further study of high resolution SAR imaging.
