Designing Of Web Application System Based On Struts Framework

With the rapid development of network technology and the wide usage of J2EE platform, the multi-layer structure based on B/S has been improved gradually and become the mainstream of web application development. However, the deficiencies that low maintainability, reusability, and inflexibility of the program apparently exist in recent web system. Consequently, hierarchical designing, the framework of each sub-tier, and selection of development technology become more and more important with the increasing demand on complexity of requirement, constraints of R&D time cycle, and system stability, extensibility and maintainability.Base on these issues, J2EE platform technology is analyzed in the thesis, followed by the deep study and research of the MVC pattern and struts framework. Furthermore, with the author's practical experiences, how to use struts framework to make Web system framework clear in hierarchy, easy to expand and maintain is discussed.In order to achieve the research purpose, the main work of this thesis are as follow: first research the thought of the MVC design pattern, analyze the segment and develop process of struts framework, and then design a kind of thought of developing by layers based on struts framework according to the specialty of J2EE Web application. Finally, with the background of practical experiences and the basis of struts framework and the thought, the system in five layers B/S framework is developed followed by further discussion on each tier of website. Moreover, for the sake of improving efficiency and validity of the system, some design patterns on J2EE are also discussed in the latter part of the thesis.
