Aims at the characters of radar weak target a new track-before-detect (TBD) algorithm is proposed in this paper, this new algorithm is based on short time slip window coherent integration and dynamic programming. Firstly, radar echo signal is formed into a first in—first out queue, and short time slip window coherent integration is implemented. Secondly, an improved track-before-detect (TBD) algorithm based on dynamic programming is performed to detect the target trace, and the algorithm is validated by simulated and real data. For the target movement between two frames is in one range unit, the number of track-before-detect transform states will be shorter which can reduce the computation of the algorithm. At last the problem of radar dim multi-target detection is discussed. An algorithm which is based on time-frequency analysis and dynamic programming of finite predictive strategy is performed to detect the targets in simulant radar model. The results prove that this algorithm has a good function on restrain the noises and the cross terms in the time-frequency distribution image.
