The paper is based on the background of the Aerial Robotics Competition of China (ARCC) which is hold by the China Automation Robotics Competition Committee and Frontier Science Study and Development Center of the Technology Department. With the Aerial Robotics as its carrier, the competition rules as its requirements, considering the present technologies and equipments, The design of a micro altimeter, the transmit of video maps and the target recognition of the ground are researched in this paper.Firstly, the development history and Classification of Aerial Robotics are introduced in this paper, expatiate the status and technology level of the Aerial Robotics competition in China and abroad.My work is introduced during explain my team tasks. Secondly, According to the requests of the height to a certain Aerial Robotics to realize autonomous control, navigation and automatic target recognition(ART), the design of a micro altimeter which is based on SCP1000-D01 is introduced in this paper.It has met the needs of the system by the experiments.In addition,the difference of my altimeter is depicted with others. Thirdly, the general structures of video maps transmit system in the Aerial Robotics is discussed in this paper, considerning the technology level of our laboratory, a wireless image transmit system and the project to dispose the object on land ,also the composing of the hardware are introduced in this paper. And then, study the algorithms of target recognition on the Aerial Rebotics. According to the objects of cars which are required to identify of the competition,the algorithms of ATR which is built on the theory of invariant moment and SVM are put forward. Experiments have demonstrated the algorithm of SVM is in effect. Finally, the expectation of future work about Aerial Robotics is discussed.
