Array signal processing is to use one group of antenna array elements which are arranged by a certain way to sample the space signals, then use the sampling data to get the information of the space signals and at the same time suppress the interference and noise. DOA estimation is an important branch of array signal processing, also known as spectrum space estimation, and its basic duty is to identify the space position of a number of interest signals which are in some certain areas and at the same time, that is, the direction angles of the received signals in the array elements, referred to as DOA.Some of the classic DOA estimation algorithms are all built on the condition of the precision of the array model, but in the actual environment, a variety of array errors are almost inevitable, at this time the represented DOA estimation algorithms such as Music and Capon, their performance will deteriorate seriously, even cause failure; at the same time, when there are more than two interferences or signals in a small angle range, the DOA estimation algorithms' performance will also get down. As a result, to research a new algorithm of DOA estimation to adapt to these specific cases is this article' s focus.This article first introduces the basic knowledge of antenna array and two DOA estimation algorithms as well as the array error model, then studies the performance of these two algorithms in both under or non under the array error conditions; after that develops a new algorithm called interference canceling based on diagonal loading due to the problem of Music and Capon, this new algorithm will increase the estimation precision by forming the received signals in every angle using beamforming technology, then cut down all other interferences in different angles from the received matrix but only save one interference or signal. After that we verify the effectiveness and correctness of this new algorithm in the condition of array error through theoretical analysis and Matlab simulation.Finally, we sum up and prospect the whole paper entirely.
