Software products based on P2P techniques are more and more accepted and favored, but most existing P2P systems are short of effective mechanisms to improve their securities. Secure problem becomes the main obstacle that P2P applications not be adopted widely. How to build trust relationships between peers of P2P system and manage the relationships effectively becomes an important subject of P2P techniques research area.Peer-to-Peer network can be seen as truly distributed computing system. Each peer is both a client and a server in these networks. The feature of the peer-to-peer system such as user anonymity, open nature makes that some peers are not responsible for their distributing inauthentic information. An effective solution is that set up the trust model in the P2P system. The trust between peers cannot be set up simply on the traditional trust mechanism. A reasonable trust construction approach comes from the social network analysis. Trust relations between individuals are set up upon recommendations of other individuals. We propose a recommendation-based comprehensive trust model for Peer-to-Peer network, bases on the analysis of research status of distributed trust models in native and abroad, references to social relationships of real world. Adopting distributed methods to manage trust avoids the dependent on center servers in centralized model. Combined with traditional encryption and digital signature methods and so on between peers' communications ensures their securities. In the following, we would introduce the establish of the comprehensive trust model, then we present dissemination architecture and distributed computing protocol. Finally, we analyze the security of this model to defense some typical attacks. The trust model designed by us based on trust mechanism and security techniques, provides a scheme to build trust relationships between peers, and makes useful attempts to resolve secure problems existing in P2P networks.
