Integration of resources has now become the key issue facing libraries. At present, digital resources are becoming richer and richer but there is no criterion for constructing resources. The key issue in the process of integrating resources is how to effectively integrate a variety of digital resources with information system so that readers can directly search for the related documentary information and then gain the corresponding electronic document or paper-made data on the paper. Grid technology is the right solution to the question.Grid resources have some features of dynamic change, geographical dispersion and heterogeneous systems, thus, application of the grid-based digital library faces a lot of technique challenges. One of the key challenge affects the task execution efficient is the distribution of the resources.Based on the analysis of the current digital library, resource management and load balance technique under the grid computing environment, a brand new system with adaptive load balancing capabilities is designed for the literatures retrieval platform based on Grid technology which retrieves science and technology literatures located in different libraries and databases, and provides a uniform and seamless environment. Base on the consideration of the throughput and load balance of grid computing proposed and implement a grid computing task scheduling algorithm based on ant algorithm. With full consideration of load balance the algorithm is capable for reasonable distribution of resources.
