Augmented Reality is a hot research field these years. In an Augmented Reality system, the effect is augmented when the real world is merged with virtual objects generated from a computer model. Augmented Reality technology has been used in many fields such as defence, medical research, machine assembling and maintaining, entertainment and building abroad, while it's a start in China. So, it's meaningful to study the key technologies in Augmented Reality.Registration methods and virtual object Generation methods are two of the technologies in Augmented Reality system. The relevant technologies currently available are analyzed, and a new virtual object Generation method is described, which can reduce the time of generation. The method gets the model's vector data through recognition and then generates the virtual object. The key steps of the algorithm are described in this paper.Registration method is the most important technology in Augmented Reality system. When the location and direction of the camera are calculated, virtual object can be put in the real scene accurately, and the result can be augmented. Special markers are used in several existing registration methods which strongly depend on the visibility of markers in the real scene. In this paper, we present a registration method based on texture feature matching. It can realize the registration successfully using the marker only once on the off-line image analysis phase, without the visibility of marker on real-time registration phase. The new method can greatly improve applicability of Augmented Reality systems.
