Research And Realization On XML-based Heterogeneous Data Integration

With the growth of large-scale enterprises, their original information systems have been unfit for the increasing needs. The most conspicuous problem is lots of heterogeneous data coexisted, which breaks the community of information among systems and results in the emergence of"isolated information island". Because there are plenty of unnecessary data in these islands, consistency of data is smashed and utilization of data is declined. This may even mislead enterprises'strategic decisions. So people begin to concentrate their attentions on data integration researches, in order to realize enterprises'data-sharing completely.Under the background of above-mentioned facts, this paper brings up an executive plan based on XML and B/S three-ply structure, and introduces the plan's design and realization. The researches mainly center on the following questions:Through the analysis of XML and Web Services and Electronic Commerce, a heterogeneous data integration framework based on XML is designed.Kernel structure, working process and modules'functions of the framework are introduced.The design and realization of key modules are elaborated, such as the validation and extraction of XML Schemas, the mapping of inter-XML document, the mapping between XML document's mode and database's relational mode.Finally, an application of heterogeneous data integration system based on XML in enterprises is available. The feasibility of framework is certified in practice, and then the defects and further improvement of the system are pointed out.Via the research and design of heterogeneous data integration, a data-sharing plan is brought up, which is easier to popularize through existing network resources and lower investment. The plan provides a unified interface of data sources access for customers to meet their requirements of transparent access. It's of significance for solving the problem of heterogeneous data integration in enterprises.
