The Application Research Of Regular Expression In Telecommunication Services Processing

Based on the in-depth analysis of a telecommunication application system on data acquisition and processing, this paper discusses the deficiencies of its design and the structural characteristics of the data generated by a telephone exchange. It then discusses how to replaces the original C++-based data extraction module with a new one based on regular expression to improve the system performance. Experimental results show that the new system not only keeps the stability and the runtime efficiency, but also improves the development efficiency and maintainability.Based on the research in the telecommunication data and the design process of the regular expression, this paper presents an improved method for the regular expression design. This paper also presents an interactive regular expression design tool named RE-Designer. It includes a graphical user interface, a structural characteristic database and a regular expression generation module. By using the graphical user interface, designers segment the data and describe their structural characteristics, instead of specifying regular expressions in a manual manner. Once the structural characteristics are stored in the database, the regular expression generation module will use a well designed algorithm to convert them to the regular expressions. By the interactive design, the RE-Designer can automatically generate the regular expression and make effective management of the design process, thereby improving the overall design efficiency.
