The three-dimension (3D) reconstruction technology has numerous applications in many areas. As the most important characteristic of human, the application of three-dimension face information has important significance in 3D face recognition, medical plastic, and so on. Most of the current 3D scancers are used to measure the rigid body,So it' s necessary to develop a 3D face scanner. In this paper, a systerm is desgined specifically for 3D face reconstruction.Based on projection grating phase method, the systerm uses two CCD cameras to record a series of projection grating images of the object at a different angle and then computer the two 3D images in the same coordinate system. Finally, we fuse the multi-views 3D images and construct an integrated face model without redundant information.The research activity of this paper covers from theory analysis, algorithm analysis and implementation to image data fusion. Based on analysis of this systerm, we firstly propose a fast image fusion algorithm according to face feature. The experiments show that it can efficiently fuse the two images in a short time. Then we discuss an extended fusion algorithm based on discrete spherical surface which can fuse the multi-views images of head and construct an integrated model. First of all, we divide the spherical surface with radius R into a uniform discrete spherical surface of n point according to the precision requirement. Then project the point from the 3D object to the discrete spherical surface and select suitable interpolation method. After that, we can fuse the multi-views 3D images into an integrated model.
