The development information industry brings more connenient to the people nowadays, at the same time however, severe problems of information security follow. Thus the academic circle and the related national department pay more attention to the steganalysis. However, the researches mainly focus on the attracting image steganography, and a little work has been done on the video stegananalysis till now. But because rich video resource can provide essential channels for secret communication, video steganalytic research is certain to be the focus of many groups. This paper firstly introduces the concept of the information hiding, describes the feature, classification, typical algorithms and applications of the information hiding; secondly analyses the video steganography, then educes the Differential Energy Watermarking(DEW), which embeds some bits by selectively discarding high frequency DCT coefficients in certain image regions. The hiding system may use the existing MPEG compression stream to carry on the video information hiding directly and the algorithm is easy to realize. The algorithm can take the video stream as the carrier and has high hiding capacity, so it is one kind of latent video hiding algorithm. Finally comes the body of the author's work that is a steganalysis algorithm against energy difference steganography algorithm. The proposed technique exploits the temporal statistics of video to estimate a statistical model and utilizes the K-S hypothesis test to detect the presence of the hidden message. The results show that this steganalysis method is successful in analyzing the DEW steganography.
