With the rapid development of wireless high speed data service, developing a medium access protocol under the limited bandwidth with higher throughput and lower energy consumption is becoming a challenge work. The research work in this dissertation carries a deep study on new techniques of MANET and puts emphasis on the multiple access to support the integration of code division medium access (CDMA) with MANET. An enhanced busy tone and power control protocol is proposed for CDMA-based mobile ad hoc network (EBTPC-CDMA). With the new power control methods in MAC layer, the transmission power of busy tone signal, clear to send (CTS) and data packets can be exactly adjusted to resist the multiple access interference from the simultaneous transmissions on data channel. In order to distribute the redundant power resource to anti-MAI reasonably, a transmission probability based estimation (TPBE) method is proposed to estimate the number of competing nodes. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol and method can significantly reduce the packet collision and increase the network throughput with lower energy consumption. |
