With the rapid development of digital signal processing and embedded technologies, digital signal processor (DSP) has been widely used in telecommunications, automation, and many other fields. The increasing application and the increasing complexity of the applied system of the DSP chip require lager scale and higher complexity of the DSP software. The rapid development of high-quality DSP software, in turn, requires highly efficient and reliable debugging tools.Based on the development project of baseband processor board of ZTE, a variety of embedded debugging methods and implementation techniques are discussed. The analysis of the configuration of the DSP target files and the organization of the debugging information are presented in detail. A set of debugging tools of DSP memory access for joint debugging of multi-block baseband processor board are designed based on the feature that the DSP memory can be analyzed by its corresponding target documents. Through initiative orders, the new debugging tools facilitates the extraction of the memory and global variables information, and enables the automatic copy of the memory in case the DSP collapses, which provides the basis for latter analysis of possible system imperfection. At present, Debugging Tools of DSP Memory Reader has been used in our project for a long time, it provided the baseband processor board debugging with a very convenient environment, and Speed up the progress of debugging work effectively.
