Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in females. It is important to discover in early stage, diagnose and treat in time similar to other cancers. The early detection is critical to raise the survival rate and reduce mortality rate. Using bioelectrical impedance technology, electrical impedance tomography (EIT) can extract the information from the cell level and detect the change of the electrical characteristics in breast tissue before a structural change. Early warning information is given by using this non-invasive detection method. This paper concluded the clinical breast tumour detection methods and discussed the advantages and weaknesses, then leaded to the feasibility of electrical impedance method in breast tumour testing and discussed some related questions. Give a detailed discussion about the finite element method and the image reconstruction algorithms designed which are two key issues of the EIT system. Original images of the tumour target both the conductivity higher and lower than normal tissue have got.In order to provide a good visual images to the clinical application, this paper first use the false alarm filtering methods in the EIT image processing which eliminate the prevailing image of the EIT massive pseudo-track and enhance the effectiveness of EIT breast detection. The current EIT effect evaluation of reconstructed image mostly rely on directly observation, this research presented a number of image parameters to give an objective evaluation to the EIT image. This paper proposed the EIT breast detection system evaluation methods that based on deviate of the structure. after the prior knowledge verification, a favorable assessment scale has reached. Finally, by use of powerful finite element analysis software FEMLAB, this paper simulated the image reconstruction with different electrode width, and used the structure deviate parameters to evaluate the results of simulation.
