The embedded technology, based on ARM processor and embedded Linux operating system, has been widely used in various fields. On account of network computing bring significant effect into play in future, Network and connectivity is becoming the direction embedded system gradually, therefore, internalization of the embedded system already becoming an inevitable trend. USA Bell lab forecasts that any useful information one can imaging are supplied by embedded system through network.This thesis realize ARM processor centered embedded systems software and hardware solution, porting Linux to support LH79520 and realize network based communication in the embedded solution.It utilized of NXP's LH79520 as the central processor and DM9000A, a highly integrated chip, as Ethernet interface. APEX is adopted in systems as Bootloader, and it customize and port Linux operating system to the hardware, and also add hardware driver into Linux kernel. The 2.6.22 version kernel run stable in hardware. Network data transmission is achieved between embedded platforms and Linux host. In this thesis, it analysis the factors affecting the TCP/IP performance, and optimize embedded system network transmission performance by comparing and testing. Finally with adopting the IPMSG protocol, it achieves network transmission applications respectively, in the ARM platform and Linux host.The experimental results show that the embedded systems solution achieved its expected goals in the availability and convenience, and makes more efficient and reduce costs when porting Linux into ARM.
