With the popularity of digital cameras, the images which have viewing angle and high resolution attract more and more attention. Figure splicing technology is a new image technology. It matches a group of overlapping part of the image sequences and produces a complete and high definition image which contains the information on the wide viewing angle image sequence scenes. Through learning on image mosaic technology, image mosaic technology demonstrates the broad application prospects.This thesis gives a detail introduction of various technology of generating panorama. The key technologies of image mosaic and image fusion are focused on. During the stage in the image mosaic, the image matching algorithm based on the feature points has been implemented. In this thesis, the feature points are extracted by an improved Canny edge detection method. Firstly, the initial relationship between the feature points is calculated by window correlation matching method. Secondly, feature points should be filtered by fast RANASC method. Thirdly, the transformation matrix M is obtained by the two-dimensional image transformation model. Finally, the transformation matrix is optimized by LM algorithm. After this procedure, the best Splicing results had been got. Then the panoramic image has been merged by using best seam-line algorithm.At last, the algorithm is authenticated by experiments. The experimental results are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages are expounded in this thesis.
