Research On Query Results Synthesis In Information Integration System

Along with the development and popularization of network and distribution technology, more and more heterogeneous datasources had been produced.The need of solving the integration problem of the heterogeneous datasources has been becoming more and more important. Nowadays, integration of heterogeneous datasources is a hotspot in information research.Query results synthesis is a crucial component of an information integration system.Its major function is to combine the query results from heterogeneous datasources into an integrated one. For the autonomy and heterogeneity of distributed datasources, the query results directly exacted from local datasources contain many dataquality problems and semantic conflictions which make query results synthesis harder and more complicated. This paper introduces the concept of query results synthesis, and makes a deep analysis of dataquality problems, semantic confliction problems and distributed patterns of query results, and designs a framework of query results synthesis in IIS information integration system.The framework of query results synthesis proposed in this paper achieves the following major functions: the design and implementation of query results cleaning module to handle the data quality problems occurred in the query results; the design and implementation of standardization transformation of query results module to harmonize the semantic conflictions between query results with different local schemas and the design and implementation of query results combination module to synthesize the standard result fragments into an integrated one with proper strategy and algorithm.
