With computers being widely used, internet plays important roles in people's lives; therefore, internet security issue emerges such as internet intrusion, service failure and abuse of network resources. These problems have endangered our work and life and even the national economy as well as social security. Internet security has become an crucial element which hinders internet service and application. Research on internet security has become a hot topic in current information industry.This dissertation discusses various internet intrusion behaviors and explains different characters of intrusion and access to detect and prevent them. Then traditional security protection technology including code, identification, firewall, intrusion detection and defects existing among them are also introduced. IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) is a newly emerged net security technology.IPS is more active than fire wall and intrusion detect system and possess intelligence, with capacity of protecting network from being attacked by unknown virus.This dissertation, on the basis of analyzing IPS' basic theory, technological advantages, security strategies and key technologies, characters of emergency network platform expansion structure, abnormal flux of emergency network platform analyzed by MRTG, puts forward emergency platform network security solution based on intrusion prevention, suggesting the internet structure or the system, main function and strategy. From the angel of real use, IPS has solved load problems when detecting data packets, and defended many attacks and improved system efficiency. Additionally, IPS can analyze internet data from flux and improve the width and depth of detection. The dissertation also suggested a network security modal of internal and external linkage and brings forward the relevant solution.
