The research of object tracking is an active problem in the domain of computer vision, image processing and pattern recognition, which is widely used in military and home application and other fields at present. The main research content of this paper is how to make the object tracking applied to experiment soil Mechanics, tracking the interested grain object in dense grains which is a mass motion because of pressing.This is specific to the characteristic of dense grains and based on the object trackingdiscoveries before bell. There are three aspects in this paper's research, which are distilling characteristic of the grain object, the designment of the grain object tracking algorithm, and the realization of a grain object tracking prototype system.For the characteristic distilling, this paper tries to mement feature, edge feature, histogram feature, gray feature, then, choosing the appropriate feature which is used into grain object tracking.For the research of the grain object tracking algorithm. First, this paper design a grainobject based on the grain object's especial color. This paper achieve the binary image by Constituting the Gauss Color Model and design a grain object tracking based on image labeling by the binary. Because people can not tracking any grain object which they want to. To resolve this issue, not only distilling appropriate grain object's feature but also designing a effective tracking algorithm that can make use of these feature adequately. This paper puts forward to a correlation tracking algorithm based on delamination matching, that can gain a accurate tracking when the grain object arise the phenomenon of translation and rotation. In addition, this paper give rise to the template updating and object forecast algorithm.For the realization of grain object tracking system. First, this paper introduces development platform construction. And then, introduces the frame of the system and the main interface. Finally, giving rise to some details of the grain object system such as the computational method of movement field between frame and selecting method of the grainobject's reference object.
