Design And Development Of Simulation Platform For Experimental Games

Nowadays, as a method of thinking and analyzing problems, game theory has been used in many fields especially in research and application of the economics. And experimental games, the experiment for proof-testing game models of game theory in controllable laboratory, implies how people thinking and behaving in practical games. Consequently, based on computer simulation, developing an experiment simulation platform for agents participating in the experimental games has a practical significance in collection of evidence for in-depth study of game theory.Firstly, this thesis introduces the research and development of behavioral game theory, experimental game, economic simulation and web technology both in home and aboard. And then some classical experimental game models and reports have been summarized.Based on the function and technique requirement of the simulation platform, I did a profound analysis of the simulation platform, and expatiated the design from three aspects as the technique foundation of the developing platform, the select and the framework of technique, and present the general framework of the simulation platform combined with web application as well as ASP.NET developing platform.After a detailed analysis of the related game theory model and experimental implementation process basis, then use ASP.NET developing platform, construct the experimental game simulation platform. In the developing process, a widely applicable common framework of the experimental game simulation platform has been designed firstly, including user identification module, experimental game hall module and background management module, which offer a uniform interface for all game modules. Based on this common framework, several game models such as prisoner's dilemma, centipede game and beauty contest games have been simulated. Further more, several experiments on experimental game simulation platform were implemented, which proved the utility and convenience of the platform. A brief statistic and analysis for the original experimental data gained by these experiments were done later.Finally, the main conclusions and some questions for further research are proposed at last.
