Research On Clock Timing Track Closure Writing And Servo Verifying

During the manufacturing process of hard disk, servo track writing is one of the most important steps. In this step, by using STW(servo track writer), servo info is written into disk track by track.In order to guarantee the accuracy of every servo track's writing, the movement and position of head, which is used to write servo, must be accurately controlled. Along with the increase of the track density of hard disk, the accuracy of servo track writing and the difficulty of servo track writing are increased. Consequently, a right clock timing track closure must be guarantied firstly. Right closure is that clock timing pulses distribute equally around one track and the number of the pulses is equal to a predefined number. Based on the analysis of the architecture of hard disk servo track writing system and other clock timing track closure writing methods, one improved method of clock timing track closure writing is introduced to adapt to the high accuracy in high density servo track writing. By modeling this writing method system, simulation result is attained and analyzed.Time of verifying the servo info of hard disk has become to a bottleneck which is putting back hard disk producing efficiency. Therefore, a new servo info verifying method for hard disk,named unmanned hard disk servo info on-line verifying method, UHSIOV for short, is proposed, and the relative function modules and algorithms are expatiated. Experimental results indicate that this method guarantees the integrality of servo info verifying and shortens the time of using Servo Track Writer and verifying procedure, and, compared to the traditional method, realizes unmanned verifying of servo info.
