Multicarrier communication technology is ususlly applied to the high speed data transmission in the telecommunication system. It can resist frequency selective fading and have high frequency efficiency. Meanwhile, multiple-input-multi-output(MIMO) system architecture makes it possible to increase system capacity and improve data transmission speed and system transmission quality. Consequently, they become key technologies in the new generation telecommunication system. Multicarrier communication system with MIMO technology can provide wider covering area, better transmission quality and achieve higher data transmission speed and frequency efficiency. However, the high peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) problem of multicarrier communication technology and carrier to interference and noise ratio measurement becomes main drawbacks in its realization. This thesis is interested in this problem. The main works this thesid do are as follows:1. This thesis introduces the development of the wireless communication system, definition of the WiMAX and the physical layer of 802.16e, also, summarizes problems needed to be resolved.2. This thesis sataes the main technology of OFDM transmission, and key parameters in the system.3. This thesis focuses on the research of the PAPR statistic characteristic of the multi carrier communication system. By theoretically analyzing the performance of reducing PAPR with reserve-tone(RT), we find that it reduce the PAPR without BER increase. Meanwhile, theretical results indicate that this method achieve better perfomace. Also, this thesis contains the simulation results depend on the link which is defined by the 802.16e protocol. Analysis and simulation results show that this sheme can improve system performance effectually.4. This thesis state the carrier to interference and noise power ratio(CINR) present situation of the research, and the importance of the CINR in wireless telecommunication system. This thesis simulated many methods about how to calculate the CINR in present articals and patents. The method which is used in present system have got high complexity and low precision. This thesis contain a method that can deal with the problem about high complexity and low precision, Simulation results about this method are also contained in this thesis.
