Research And Realization Of NC Programming Auxiliary System Based On Pro/NC

This paper presents a resolution of NC programming auxiliary system to resolve problem for example, Pro/NC parameter setting is difficult, parameter name is not standardized and so on, based on analyzing the development situation of CAD/CAM, especially the current application of Pro/NC. System structure and data structure for the NC programming auxiliary system are presented according to the system's requirement and function description.The NC programming auxiliary system consists of three main parts: Database management, Cutter management and Application of machining methods. In order to meet the requirement of modern NC machining, milling cutter management module is established. Through analyzing machining methods of Pro/NC, classification of process parameters, customization of parameters name to chinese engineers, and explanation of process parameters, The dispersed process parameters are integrated and optimized in Application of machining methods, which include four aspects: Tool path pattern, Pattern cutting, Cutting Parameter, Cutter feed and retract mode setting. All this can make Pro/NC functions more convenient to use and meet the demand of manufacturing, improve Pro/NC efficiency and NC machining quality. Database management module realized auxiliary management of cutter data, including data backup and recovery.The dialog program is developed in VC. And the database is built up with Access. The data communication between the Access and VC is implemented to complete the data query and modification by SQL rule of VC. Application of machining methods module outputs the cutter and process parameters accurately set to Pro/NC. NC programming auxiliary system is called in Pro/E by means of interface program which is developed in Pro/Toolkit.Finally, the practicality of NC programming auxiliary system is verified by NC machining using the NC program generated from NC programming auxiliary system.
