With the development of speech recognition technique and the soft and hardware for digital signal processing in recent years, the research of speech recognition and control system have been more and more attended. Speech enhancement and endpoint detection play an important role in speech recognition.This paper designs and implements a kind of practical for speech signal enhancement and enpoint detection syetem based on TMS320VC5402.In the paper,the history and the current status of the research and application of speech recognition technique introduced briefry,throgh comparing existing algorithm of speech signal enhancement and enpoint dection.The adaptive filter is used to enhanced speech signal,and double-threshold comparison based on short-time energy and zero crossing rate is used to detected enpoint.Following the need of real-time system,TMS320VC5402 isused as system's core processing unit.Elucidating its operating principle and application feature of the system, cooperated with other correlating chips to construct speech signal processing syetem,and realising speech input, A/D conversion,adaptive treatment,endpoint detection ,D/A conversion and speech output.In the paper the detailed structure of the syetem is given and the operating process is analyzed, the system application code is written with C,and debugged on CCS 3.1.The results indicate that the designed system meets the command of realtime and practicability.
