Corona and spark discharge may appear on high voltage power network, substation and distribution etc. UV and visible double spectrum image system is designed to detect corona discharge by using solar blind ultraviolet detection technology. Highly digital signal processing gives an impetus to real-time image processing. With the usage of DSP, multi-channel image fusion can be achieved in high speed, as it has the virtue of programmable, high speed, pipeline architecture, parallelism and stable. This thesis focuses on image processing design of the UV and visible double spectrum image system. The paper introduces the concept, significance and international and internal developmental status of the UV signal detection and digital signal processing system. Based on the analysis of DSP's structure characteristics, design thought of system software and working process of each software module are deeply discussed, data acquisition module and processing module are compiled by using DSP/BIOS of CCS. With system image's signal characteristic of weak strength, randomness, transient, low contrast and a great deal of noises, related image processing algorithms are deeply analyzed, image binarization and weighted averaging fusion are finally used as system's image processing programme. Thought the experiments on DSP circuit board, it is proved to get a better effect and meet the system real-time needs.
