With the development of the digital technology, media technology and Internet technology, we can enjoy the joviality by media and digital transport technology via our audible and visual, even more, can edit, recompose, copy and spread those digital audio and video at our will without any restrict. Therefore, it is important to protect the copyright and the economy benefit of those men who create those digital production, simultaneitily, it is also important to ensure the digital production is safe and is credible, the two are the crucial problems should be solved as soon as possible. Digital watermark technology is a new available method to solve the problem of copyright protection of digital media, and is much attention focuses to be a new direction in information safety domain.This thesis is based on static images, and studies the theory and applications of the color image watermarking technology, at the same time, studies the system model and the familiar attack mode and the capability target. After analyzing the theory and algorithm of the hypothesis test and the wavelet transform, integrating the Human Visual System(HVS),employing the characteristics of multi-resolution analysis of the two-dimension discrete wavelet transform (DWT), the author proposes a theory scheme of an adaptive watermark embedding and pick-up algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is strongly robust to the geometry distortion and the signal processing.Based on the study of the algorithm suggested by the author, a color image digital watermarking system is designed and completed in this paper by using MATLAB, which integration all kinds of processing image functions, and LABVIEW based on virtual instrument. The author's practice can be used to solve the matter of copyright and identification in spreading images by Internet and other digital media.
