In recent years, the phased array technology develops rapidly. It can accomplish real-time inertia-less laser beam steering. As compared to mechanical beam directing, this technology has many advantages such as electronically controlled, lightweight, programmable and high accuracy.Targets tracking method by means of controllable laser-net which is directed by the phased array technology is studied. Laser-net is a kind of output laser with a mesh-like cross section. The method is: when target is scanned by laser-net, (the target can be detected and extracted, then the system can direct laser-net to target according to the information extracted from target image and the forecasted trajectory of the target, then achieve high accuracy and steady track.The gray distribution characteristics are analyzed. Based on the characteristics, image filter algorithm has been studied, and a histogram-analysis threshold algorithm which can segment the target better is raised. The frame difference method is applied to detected moving target. The target-centroid tracing method combined with histogram-analysis threshold algorithm can track targets well.In order to control laser-net cover target, the forecasted position of the target is necessary. Therefore, Kalman filter which can estimate the moving state of the target is studied. A constant acceleration model which is suitable to the non-maneuvering target is built, and a current statistical model which is suitable to the maneuvering target is built. And a simple model conversion method is applied to convert to the matching model. The simulation results of two-model Kalman algorithm consistent with the theory, and can forecast the position with high precision.Finally, the two categories of algorithm are integrated, the system operation processes is constructed, and the tracking software is developed. On this basis, the tracking experiment is done, the results manifest that the system can track targets effective stability, no matter whether the target maneuvers or not.
