| Color management of digital color imaging devices enables colors consistent in an imaging system, and is widely used in many fields, such as textile, printing, and multimedia imaging. It has been being a hotspot for past ten years internationally. The paper concerns on the color controlling techniques for digital display devices. The aim is to learn and grip the key techniques of color management, and to lay a base for device developments and applications. The core of color management is device profile, which consists of device characterization, gamut description and gamut mapping. In this study, different types of display devices are used for the characterization, with three methods, such as the polynomial regression, the three-dimensional look up table and the artificial neural network procedures.A three dimensional look-up table is built by the tetrahedron interpolation method. The algorithm which could find the fourth point of the tetrahedron quickly through the other three points of the tetrahedron adjacent to the interpolated point, solves the problem that find the tetrahedron quickly. In addition, the conversion accuracy of the artificial neural network procedures is better. In this paper, the color space conversion method based on the simple~γmodel of CRT is established. There are two processes: first, builds up the one- dimensional relationship between the chroma of the samples and the conversion chroma; the second, builds up the three-dimensional relationship between the conversion chroma and the digital control data. The results prove that the two-process method can reduce the complication of the system and convert colors more accurately .The systematic experiments on portrait and landscape images have been done with the artificial neural network procedures, and show that the technique is able to control display colors more effectively, even though there are some insufficiencise. |
