With the rapid technical development of network, the extensible markup language XML is becoming an international language for its excellent characteristics and advantages such as extensibility, opening and validation, and has got much more application in electronic commerce, data exchanging, network publication ,manufacturing industry ,the living creature medicine ,telecommunications and so on. The development of the XML market makes the quantity of the XML text files greater and the function of the XML language increasingly important. More and more various data and text files write in XML language.This thesis designs and carries out a RESources Analyzing System (RESA) based on XML technique which can trace resources in application systems, produce the tracing log, check leakages of the resources by analyzing the logs and fill out a result table, the show a report to customers via the browser. The system is made of four parts: analysis of the system parameters, deriving of the resources monitor log, analysis of the resources tracing log, result table and displaying. The key point is to use XPath as the query language, based on logical structures of the XML texts, looking for the address of the XML element and text by taking a XML text as a model of tree or node. The XLST analysis model analyzes the input XML text , including the XSLT pattern table, deals with the command found from the XSLT pattern table, converts the XML text file into HTML text file and displays the file on the browser, in order to help the software developers decide how to enhance software developing and maintaining rate.
