Research On Interoperability Testing Of BGP4+ Based On Policy

With the fast development of Internet,efficient and stable route protocols have turned out to be a key factor to ensure the high performance of networks,and research on theories and methods about routing protocol testing appears to be more important than before.Conformance testing and interoperability testing can guarantee a protocol implementation perform correctly in a real network environment.Our research work mainly focuses on interoperability testing,and consists of the following two parts:First part is theoretic work.The relationship between interoperability testing and conformance testing is analyzed,and interoperability testing of a protocol implementation is essencial to the products on the Interact.Accord to the features of BGP4,testing work is divided into two parts:testing based on FSM and testing based on policy after the FSM reaches estabilished state.Basic actions of route protocols can be described by FSM,and the testing sequences are generated. Some testcases are achieved by referring to the newest specifications of BGP4 and the related material of interoperability testing.Second part is practical work.According to the purpose of testing and needs of testing,the tool of interoperability testing is developed which can be adapted to some special testcases.The specific purposes of testing and design of testing are finished in accordance with the different realizations of the BGP4+ protocol. Some interoperability testing cases are finished,and the test reports are presented.
